It has been such a pleasure teaching and painting alongside women at the GirlForward space in August. As an female immigrant, the meaning behind this one so close to my heart.
In collaboration with GirlForward, the Peace for Peace project developed a pilot dynamic art- based fellowship for young refugee and immigrant participants in the Chicago community that provided an opportunity to explore mural making, storytelling, safety, and community narrative. The project, was part of the GirlForward Safe Spaces Program, dedicated to providing spaces of identity, exploration, cross-cultural exchange, and the cultivation of healing and hope for GirlForward Girls.
I am so proud of the hard work girls put into this project.
