This past summer I got a chance to paint another (this makes 3!) mural in Oak Park. Since the location is so vibrant in art, getting a chance to paint in this neighborhood makes me excited every time my design gets approved for painting. I remember walking by the murals when the project first started in 2010 and thinking how great it would be to be a part of the project.
The mural is located on North Blvd, east of Oak Park Ave (the oak park stop off the green line train)
Here is some insight into the creation of this mural...
It is called "What's haunting you?" and is an image of two of the characters I have been working on. The blue character is a crystal boy who is angry at his mom (The red and pink silhouette) for not being near his side. She is just like a dream, unable to reach him. Of course, it is a painting with this story only as inspiration. It always puts a smile on my face to hear 100 other interpretations of my work from my friends, family and observers that watch me paint. As long as I can get your imagination going, I think that all of the other stories for my characters are amazing! Tell me your ideas, suggestions and please ask questions!
I will be writing another blog about the story I came up with for these character and would love to hear your interpretations :)
